Portraits
Natural: Natural light has a wonderfully subtle and timeless quality. It is also more forgiving than artificial light. It is therefore my preferred choice for family photographs. Whether at my subjects' home or out on location, I will identify pools of good quality light, place them in it and then work through a mixture of posed and informal shots. I believe that photoshoots should be enjoyable. My natural and relaxed manner enables me to put subjects of all ages at ease and I involve them in the creative process.
Editorial and fashion: I use my experience as a documentary photographer to offer my clients a bespoke photography service, producing beautiful, stylized pictures. Whether you would like editorial photographs as seen in Sunday supplements or fashion shots fit to grace the pages of Vogue, we can offer you an individual service to create unique and highly personal photographs.
Weddings
My photographs' distinctive style comes from the keenness of my eye, my artistic and compositional flair and my dedication to quality.
Wherever possible, I photograph weddings naturally, keeping use of flash to a minimum. I want the couples I photograph to treasure their wedding photos throughout their lives and therefore I avoid gimmicky effects which will soon look dated.
I capture the essence of the day, telling the story which unfolds with beautiful and engaging photography. Key moments and the more formal portraits are interspersed light-hearted interaction between guests and a record of the finer details of the day - the dress, flowers and place settings.
This reportage style results in a dynamic collection of photos that flow together. Unlike many wedding photographers whose use of reportage style never extends beyond taking wedding photographs, my experience as a professional documentary photographer allows me to create interesting pictures with artistic depth.
