Mark Howell - the photographer

I am an established documentary photographer specializing in photographing people and telling their stories. I love finding out what makes people tick and the challenge of portraying their personalities and experiences through this fabulous medium. To see examples my documentary work, click here.

15 years' experience as a professional and my relaxed nature, helps me put my subjects at ease and deliver a high level of customer service. I always aim to exceed my customers' expectations.

I have an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication (University of the Arts) which is widely acknowledged as one of the leading photography courses in the world.

I hold regular exhibitions of my documentary work and had my first book, documenting the lives of Palestinians in the West Bank, published last year. Click here to find out more.

Mark Howell - social entrepreneur

I am committed to social responsibility and believe we all have a duty to give something back to society if we are to improve the communities in which we live and work. It is too easy to sit back and blame the government or big corporations for society's ills. I believe that volunteering your time for the benefit of others releases a powerful lifeforce within you and allows people to re-discover their drive, self-respect and positivity.

I run Nutmeg, an ethical communications consultancy, with my business partner Morag Livingstone.

I set up and direct The Arts Poole c.i.c. (TAP), an arts and creative networking community interest company dedicated to revitalizing the arts scene in Poole.

I am also a Board member of Poole Old Town Conservation Group.
